  • Eligibility Criteria: Medicaid or no insurance. Reside in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park.

    * Women Specific services provided to residents of Hamtramck and Highland Park.

    Black Family Development, Inc. provides services that address the impact of drug dependency via referrals for:

  • Shelter and Housing
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Mental Health Services
  • Employment
  • Job Training
  • Educational Advancement
  • Advocacy


  • Eligibility Criteria: Medicaid or no insurance. Reside in Wayne County; Hamtramck and Highland Park. (1) Be at least 18 years of age.

    Substance Abuse Prevention

    Public Education and information to prevent addiction and promote healthy life styles is provided through Black Family Development, Inc. prevention programs. Information/Education is provided, but not excluded to the following areas:

  • Tobacco
  • Drug Abuse Awareness
  • Where to find help for Addition
  • Smoking Sensation Programs
  • Community Resources


  • Eligibility Criteria: Detroit and Wayne County residents, adults and teens, requesting a presentation to their youth group, school, community organization, social service agency, faith-based organization, or other affiliation
